This item is a professionally-produced canvas of my original sketch of an Argus Electric Eye Camera. I have collected cameras since I was a kid. Some work and many do not. My interest in them has always been more about their design them whether they actually work. The ones that are in good working condition were bought because I use them (and often). But really it has always been about the design of the camera.

Many designed and released in the mid-century, in particular, caught my interest and it isn’t lost on me that when I started painting them years ago that I was hand-making an image of a machine that is made to create images.

My initial sketches are done in pencil and transferred to a tablet where they are meticulously executed using a variety of “media” styles (oil and canvas, watercolor, pastel, pencil, ink, etc). Having spent over 25 years working in traditional media

At the beginning of this year, I challenged myself to Make Something Every Day and these have turned into the fruits of that labor. Around number 35 I realized that because these are done primarily digitally that they would successfully translate to prints, posters, and canvas prints that could be sold to you. The reason is that every one of these drawings is created at a high resolution (300dpi) at 18x24 inches which allowed us to scale the artwork up without losing integrity and also down to create more cost-effective options for you.
