This item is a professionally produced art print of my original sketch of the historic Waldorf Towers Hotel located on Ocean Drive in Miami Beach, Florida. Always a tourist favorite the Art Deco district of Miami Beach is a rich and inspiring area in a city FULL of culture. Every week or so I will climb aboard my bike and strike out on a photo safari to capture these jewels in a different way with a goal to execute a drawing for every Art Deco Hotel in Miami Beach. Not just satisfied with that I’ve begun to explore the residential neighborhoods where there are so many beautiful private homes that celebrate the prime number and rhythmic properties of Art Deco from the early 20th century.
My initial sketches are done in pencil and transferred to a tablet where they are meticulously executed using a variety of “media” styles (oil and canvas, watercolor, pastel, pencil, ink, etc). Having spent over 25 years working in traditional media
At the beginning of this year, I challenged myself to Make Something Every Day and these have turned into the fruits of that labor. Around number 35 I realized that because these are done primarily digitally that they would successfully translate to prints, posters, and canvas prints that could be sold to you. The reason is that every one of these drawings is created at a high resolution (300dpi) at 18x24 inches which allowed us to scale the artwork up without losing integrity and also down to create more cost-effective options for you.
Thank you so much for visiting our shop. We are primarily a branding agency based in the Wynwood neighborhood of Miami and have a difficult time not creating. Painting and other visual explorations help us to stay sharp in our everyday work while we work with our clients. Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have about this item! I really did enjoy making it for you …
